Since the beginning of the motion picture, movies featuring dancing have always been a hit with audiences. Countless "dancing movies" have been made throughout the past century, encompassing all genres of dance, from ballet to krump and almost everything in between. Here are some favourite movie moments of all time:
Ballet
 Billy Elliot
The Turning Point (1977) - The story of two sisters who reflect on the role ballet played in their lives, as they watch one of their daughters enter ballet training. With a star-studded cast including famous ballet dancers Mikhail Baryshnikov and Alexandra Danilova
Billy Elliot (2000) - A son of a coal miner in Ireland, steps away from the family profession and decides to become a ballet dancer, despite initial ridicule from his father and brother.
Save the Last Dance (2000) - Following the death of her mother, a young aspiring ballerina moves in with her father to a tough inner-city neighbourhood. She befriends local kids and learns a side of life she had not previously known.

Take the Lead (2006) - A ballroom teacher finds himself teaching more than just dance, when he is assigned to teach ballroom in a tough inner-city school.

 Singin' in the Rain
Shall We Dance? (1937) - One of the many Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers classics, this one uniquely focused on ballet, combined with modern pieces.
